Who We Are: 

Since 1932, the Virginia Trucking Association (VTA) has been the leading voice for the trucking industry in the Commonwealth.

We are the only statewide, non-profit association of trucking companies, private fleet operators, industry suppliers, and other firms and individuals interested in the well-being of motor freight motor transportation at the local, state and national level.

From family-owned and corporate trucking businesses transporting goods throughout the state and nation to the many suppliers supporting their efforts, the VTA is the only organization providing full-time service and representation for the trucking industry in VA.

The VTA is owned and operated by its members for their mutual benefit, governed by an Executive Committee and Board of Directors elected from the general membership.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Virginia Trucking Association is to work to make Virginia the best state in the nation in which to base and operate a trucking company. To that end, the VTA:

• Serves and represents the interests of Virginia’s trucking industry;
• Provides advocacy for trucking’s interests at all levels of government
• Advances the trucking industry’s image, efficiency, competitiveness and profitability;
• Provides educational programs;
• Promotes highway and driver safety and security; and
• Works for a healthy business environment.
