Goodbye CSA – Hello IRT

In December of 2010 the FMCSA Launched the Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) Program and promised that a new age of data driven safety was upon the Trucking Industry and this new tool would allow FMCSA to focus its enforcement and audit efforts on those motor carriers who demonstrated shortcomings as measured by elevated CSA Scores.

Five years later, in December of 2015, Congress finally responded to the calls from motor carriers, insurance, legal, shippers, brokers and drivers to overhaul CSA and address the many deficiencies and biases that had become apparent in the methodology and in data sufficiency and collection processes.

Join Steve Bryan, Founder of Vigillo, and now Trucking Industry Entrepreneur for an update on where the CSA Program stands today, almost December of 2020, another five years down the road from the mandated changes of the FAST Act.  What is going on with Item Response Theory, how has COVID impacted CSA Scores, and what has the FMCSA done recently to once again stir the CSA pot?
