“DMV Update”

Rick Holcomb, Commissioner, Department of Motor Vehicles

Other than the ABC department, DMV probably has the most face-to-face interactions of any state agency.  In mid-March, all 75 DMV Customer Service Centers were shut down due to the coronavirus and remained closed for about two months.  During the shutdown, DMV Commissioner Rick Holcomb and his staff worked on ways to continue providing services while maintaining a safe environment for their customers and employees.  Holcomb said in a July interview that “Gone are the days when you would walk into a lobby and have hundreds of chairs filled with hundreds of people."  Commissioner Rick Holcomb will give an update on how DMV is delivering its services during the pandemic and how it will do business with the trucking industry in the future, including a new option for CDL renewals.
