Most of us have drivers and other employees who are in their 50’s or 60’s, lead a sedentary lifestyle, and don’t eat as healthy as they should….and those things can lead to health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, sleep apnea, things that can dramatically increase our medical insurance costs.
And statistically speaking, a healthy driver is a better safety risk than an unhealthy one.
One of the things we can do to start improving the health of our workforce, and especially our driver population, is to establish a Wellness Program.
Our VTASM&HRC meeting in July will feature Jackie Ronning, V.P. of Employee Benefits with Cottingham and Butler. Jackie’s presentation will focus on the establishment of a Wellness Program in your organization.
