2011 – 2012 HVUT Form 2290 Filing Due November 30 - Filing of Form 2290 for payment of the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax for 2011 - 2012 is due by November 30. The IRS no longer mails the forms. Owners of 24 or less taxable vehicles have to obtain the form at their local IRS office or download it at www.irs.gov/formspubs/index.html. All taxpayers can file electronically, however, owners of 25 or more taxable vehicles are required to E-file. The VTA has developed a new service to assist our members with electronic filing of Form 2290 at www.VTA2290.com. This specially-designed web site offers competitive rates with an authorized IRS E-file provider plus VTA members receive an additional 10% discount.
